2 bunches Brussels sprouts (24 to 30), trimmed and halved

6 strips uncooked bacon, diced

5 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon minced garlic

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1Preheat the oven to 350ºF.

2In a 9-by-13-inch baking dish, toss the Brussels sprouts with the bacon and olive oil.

3Stir in the garlic, salt, and pepper.

4Bake for 50 minutes, or until the Brussels sprouts are tender.

SUBSTITUTION TIP: To make this vegetarian, omit the bacon. Add 2 diced turnips along with the Brussels sprouts.
